Thursday March 5, 2026
7-8:30pm
Held Virtually on Zoom
CME accreditation will be applied for via the American Academy of Family Physicians. (AAFP)

Join us for a practical discussion presented by Dr. Priyanka Makkar focused on identifying, diagnosing, and managing obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) within the primary care practice. Our session will emphasize clinical decision making, evolving treatment options, and strategies to support patients.

1. Identify patients at highest risk for obstructive sleep apnea in the primary care setting, including atypical presentations and high-risk populations (e.g., women, older adults, patients with cardiometabolic disease).
2. Screening tools and indications for home sleep testing versus in-lab polysomnography.
3. Overview of treatment options for obstructive sleep apnea
4. Overview of Positive airway pressure therapy
5. Recommendations for patients diagnosed with sleep apnea who haven't tolerated CPAP in the past
6. Tirzepatide and its approved indications for sleep apnea.
