About

The King County Academy of Family Physicians is a professional medical society dedicated to maintaining high standards of family medicine. Our mission is to advance and support Family Physicians in King County in providing optimal health care to all people. The vision of KCAFP is to transform health care to achieve optimal health for all people.
KCAFP Values
Family Medicine benefits our community by improving the health of its members. Family Physicians improve health by delivering care with the following attributes:
  • accessible and equitable for all people
  • centered on the whole person within the context of family and community
  • based on science, technology and best available evidence
  • supported by workforce development and lifelong professional learning

KCAFP Strategic Priorities
  1. Support. We provide fellowship and professional development for Family Doctors in King County.
  2. Advocacy. We are a voice for Family Doctors promoting social justice in our community and, through our work with the WAFP and AAFP, in our state and nation.
  3. Education. We ensure the future of Family Medicine by supporting student and resident interest and involvement in the specialty.

Roger A. Rosenblatt Community Service Award.

Each year the Academy presents a community service award to a member of the King County Academy of Family Physician that best exemplifies service to the community over and above their normal duties as a family physician. In 2015, the award was named after the late Roger A. Rosenblatt, Professor and Vice-Chair of Family Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine and a truly outstanding family physician and community member.
